Introduction
Lattice, the leading supplier of low-density CMOS PLDs,
has introduced two in-system programmable (ISP)
ispGAL products based on the popular 22V10
architecture. Both the 3.3-Volt ispGAL22LV10 and the 5-
Volt ispGAL22V10 provide industry-leading performance
and are priced the same as their conventionally
programmed GAL22V10 counterparts. Lattice now
provides the flexibility of the GAL22V10 architecture with
the power of Lattice ISP in both 3.3V and 5V versions,
effectively obsoleting all other simple PLD options.
The new ispGAL22V10 and ispGAL22LV10 families complement Lattice’s current product
offerings, and provide powerful new functionality. Combining the flexibility of in-system
programmability with the 22V10 architecture and maintaining JEDEC compatibility with
industry standard 28-pin PLCC and SSOP packaging, these new ispGAL devices eliminate
the need for stand-alone programmers. Additionally, the ispGAL devices are fully compatible
with Lattice’s higher-density, complex PLDs, enabling designers to implement
comprehensive ISP design, manufacturing, and field upgrade strategies for all of their
system logic requirements.

Lattice has priced the 3.3-Volt ispGAL22LV10 and the 5-Volt ispGAL22V10 the same as
their conventionally programmed GAL22V10 counterparts, effectively offering both ISP and
Low Voltage for Free! Both are now available in 28-pin PLCC and SSOP packages from

Design Software Tools
The ispGAL22LV10 and ispGAL22V10 use standard GAL22V10 design compiler support, which
is available from Data I/O (ABEL), Logical Devices (CUPL), Accel Technology (Tango PLD),
OrCAD (OrCAD PLD), Minc (PLD Designer), ISDATA (LOG/iC) and Omation (SchemaPLD).
Compiler support is also available through the Lattice ISPTM Synario System which supports
both the GAL® family as well as Lattice’s high-density ispLSI® family.
