STYLES CU16 (UNINSULATED), CU17 (INSULATED), AND CUR17 (INSULATED)
STYLE CU16 INACTIVE FOR
DESIGN AFTER 23 MARCH 1972
This specification is approved for use by all Depart-
ments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
The requirements for acquiring the capacitors described herein shall consist
of this specification sheet and MIL-PRF-39018.
NOTES:
1. Dimensions are in inches.
2. Metric equivalents are given for general information only and are based upon 1.00 inch = 25.4 mm.
3. These capacitors are not intended to be mounted by their leads.
4. For .625 diameter case, the leads shall be .032 +.008, -.002 diameter and for all other diameter cases the
leads shall be .040 +.008, -.002 diameter.
5. The “D” dimensions for styles CU17 and CUR17 shall be not more than .008 (0.20 mm) larger than the
specified bare case diameter.

For qualification: Condition F (2,000 hours) at +85°C.

Cap.: W ithin ±10 percent of initial measured value.
ESR: Not more than 130 percent of initial requirement.
For conformance: Performance check, condition B (250 hours) at +85°C (non-ER).
DCL: See table I.
Cap.: W ithin ±10 percent of initial measured value.
ESR: See table I.
For conformance: Continuation test (1,750 hours) at +85°C (non-ER).
DCL: See table I.
Cap.: W ithin ±15 percent of initial measured value.
ESR: Not more than 130 percent of initial requirement.
