Retroreflective model with autocollimation lens. Emitter and receiver use the
same lens producing the tightest possible beam.

Diffuse models with background suppression. Converging beam produces
precise background suppression.
Features
•Many light source options; Laser
for accuracy, Visible red for
convenience, Infrared for
economical distance
•Diffuse sensors have adjustable
background suppression for
accurate sensing in tight locations
•Polarized retroreflective sensor
incorporates autocollimating lens
for tighter beam uniformity
•Laser sensors offer high switching
speeds, tolerance to object color
changes and small beam
diameter (0.1 mm at 80mm)
•Highly visible status LEDs for
output and contamination (weak
signal r eturn) function
•Sensitivity adjustment with precise
indication of set value
•Complementary (NO and NC) PNP
outputs with short circuit protection
on each model
•Compact, versatile IP 67
housing with rotatable micro
connector.
BOS 26K family of optical sensors
provides a wide range of sensing
solutions in an innovative block
housing. The family consists of five
models; three diffuse and two
retroreflective. Multiple light
sources are also available consist-
ing of laser, visible red and infrared
light. The 50x50x17 mm housing
with rotatable micro connector and
optional mounting bracket make
quick work of installation and
alignment.
Diffuse models incorporate
background suppression with
sensitivity controls (See figure 1).
Precise small part detection is
accomplished with the visible laser
emission model (1LHB). The laser’s
tight beam (0.1 mm at 80 mm) can
detect small parts regardless of
color. Short-range model (1HC) has
visible red emission to aid in
alignment. Extended range model
(1IE) uses infrared emission.
Retroreflective models utilize a
polarizing filter, autocollimating lens
and sensitivity adjustment. The
autocollimating feature provides a
single lens for the emission and
reception of the light (see figure 2).
The net result eliminates dead-
zones directly in front of the sensor
and provides consistent switch
points regardless of approach angle
or direction.
The polarizing filter prevents
ambient and target reflected light
from false triggering the sensor.
Sensitivity adjustment enables
multiple sensors to be used in close
proximity to each other without
cross activation. The laser model
(1LQK) has a range of 12m and the
red light model (1QE) has a range of
5.5 m. Both produce a visible light
to aid in alignment.
