ble. Recommended replacements are pin compatible, but
require recompiling of the design file. See XCN07010 for
details regarding this discontinuation, including device

Description
The XC95216 is a high-performance CPLD providing
advanced in-system programming and test capabilities for
general purpose logic integration. It is comprised of eight
36V18 Function Blocks, providing 4,800 usable gates with
propagation delays of 10 ns. Se e Figure 2 for the architec-
ture over vi ew.
Power Management
Power dis sipation can be red uced in the XC952 16 by con-
figuring macrocells to standard or low-power modes of
operation. Unused macrocells are turned off to minimize
power dissipation.
Operating c ur rent for each desig n can be approx im ate d for
specific operating conditions using the following equation:
ICC (mA) = M CHP (1.7) + MC LP (0.9) + MC (0.006 mA/MHz) f
Where:
MCHP = Macrocells in high- per fo rmanc e mode
MCLP = Macrocells in low-power mode
MC = Total number of macrocells used
f = Clock frequency (MHz)
Figure 1 shows a typical calculation for the XC95216
device.
